On November 13, 2014, Ēriks Božis’ art object “Benches” is opened on Bastejkalns.

The composition consists of twelve different height benches located in the circle on the top of the hill. This is a work of art which fully equates art with life in the city.

For at least five months a year, we can sit on benches. Ēriks’ idea is clear:
- Latvian folk, who tend to be quite taciturn, will find themselves in a convivial situation in which they are surrounded by other people,
- visitors to Riga, given the various dimensions of the benches, will busy themselves finding the best pose for a photograph - either sitting on an elevation or a depression.
