For six consecutive academic years from 2011 to 2017, with the support of the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation, Riga Stradiņš University implemented a unique lifelong learning project - the “Academy of Intelligence”.
The project provided students and members of the public with the opportunity to develop the kind of knowledge and skills, which are not provided by academic education, but which are vital to the development of any personality. Under the tutelage of experienced and well-known experts, those who attended the activities enhanced their knowledge of art, culture, music, etiquette, behavioural culture, dancing and other disciplines. The activities were attended by tens of thousands of people.
The Academy of Intelligence was organised in two modules: a Personality Development module and a Ball dancing Theory and Practice module.
We invite you to watch a summary of the lectures in this specially produced video magazine (in Latvian).
Over a five year period, 138 activities dedicated to art and culture took place in the first module, which were attended by over 33,000 people. In turn, several hundred pairs of ball dancing partners improved their ball dancing steps. Now, the skills they acquired allow thousands of visitors to art and dance activities to build upon these foundations independently - enhancing and improving their knowledge, as well as using it during the course of their daily lives.
