From 24 May to 31 October 2026, the Rundāle Palace Museum presents the exhibition "The Allure of Flowers". The exhibition invites visitors to explore the world of flowers in art, symbolism, and interior design, revealing the story of how exotic garden plants were introduced to Europe and became popular in the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia. It features works of art from several distinguished European museums.
The exhibition, created with the support of the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation, opened on 24 May, marking the 290th anniversary of Rundāle Palace. It includes artworks from renowned European institutions, including the Borys Voznytsky Lviv National Art Gallery, Paleis Het Loo Museum, the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, and the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art.
A key feature of the exhibition is the multimedia installation "Tulip Fever" by Dutch artist Jos Agasi, which offers a contemporary interpretation of the so-called Tulip Mania in 17th-century Netherlands - one of the first documented speculative price bubbles in world history.
The exhibition is displayed in the first-floor exhibition galleries and entrance hall of the palace. Visitors can also enjoy the Rundāle Palace French Garden, where many of the plants and flowers depicted in the artworks can be seen blooming in their natural setting.
