DO IT YOURSELF FOR YOUR FAMILY TABLE: first contracts signed. 04.04.2017.

Under the new programme "Do it Yourself for Your Family Table", at least 400 families that find themselves in difficulty get an additional opportunity and stimulus to work the land in order to provide food for their family table.

  • Under the auspices of the projects supported by the organisation, seeds, seedlings and gardening tools will be provided with which the district’s impoverished families will be able to plant neighbourhood gardens, as well as for use in gardens run by the NGOs. Also involved in this work will be the Kārķu initiative support society "Ugunspuķe" (Fireweed) (pictured).

  • Throughout the summer, people involved in the projects will also have the opportunity to receive consultations about gardening, while in the autumn they will be able to receive advice on storing and conserving the harvest in winter.

  • During the event, representatives of organisations supported by the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation symbolically planted seeds in the Bulduri Gardening Secondary School’s greenhouse, thus signifying the instigation of some outstanding initiatives.

  • The Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation first began supporting collaborative initiatives in 2013 by involving visitors to charitable kitchens, and people in need identified by other organisations, in practical activities aimed at improving their quality of life.
