Philanthropists Boris and Ināra Teterev visited the LU Botanical Garden to inspect the work done to date and to reflect on their ongoing collaboration with the University of Latvia in restoring the garden to its former glory.

  • In 2015, significant renovation and landscaping work has been carried out at the LU Botanical Garden. This autumn, the second phase of the reconstruction of the garden’s fence was completed, along with the restoration of that part of the garden, which is home to rhododendrons and is now once again open to visitors after a break of several decades.

  • The total works carried out over the past three years with the support of the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation have significantly increased public awareness of and interest in the University of Latvia’s Botanic Garden. Since 2012, there has been a 29% increase in the number of visitors to the LU Botanical Garden.

  • This autumn, continuing the work begun last year, the second phase of the renovation of the Botanical Garden’s fence has been completed: the old fence has been replaced by a new 540 m long fence, which separates the garden from the plots of land on Kuldīgas iela.
