The award was conferred in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the advancement of Latvian theatre and the development of the Valmiera Theatre, through the creation and leadership of a professional team whose work has produced lasting and distinguished achievements in Latvia’s cultural life.

Philanthropist Ināra Tetereva said: “Under your leadership, the Valmiera Theatre has become a place where not only outstanding productions are born, but also trust in the arts, courage for creative innovation, and respect for the audience. Through your talent, perseverance, and vision, you have made an invaluable contribution to Latvia’s cultural life and inspired both colleagues and audiences alike. It was awarded on a special day when representatives of the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation supported projects from across Latvia gathered at the Valmiera Theatre for the event “Good Attracts Good.” The gathering marked an opportunity to look back on the Foundation’s accomplishments over 15 years of activity and to celebrate the people whose work, initiative, and commitment make a meaningful contribution to the strength and well-being of Latvian society.

The Foundation’s partnership with the Valmiera Theatre began in 2020 through co-funding for the creation of the art installation Krodera ābele (“Krodera’s Apple Tree”). In 2023, as the theatre celebrated its 100th anniversary, the first agreement was signed to support the creation of new productions. Since then, the Foundation has supported the development of thirteen new productions at the Valmiera Theatre.
