In 2023, we continued to help realize the ideas of active people in five areas: education and science, culture and art, animal care, community projects, and social assistance.

In the atmosphere of the philanthropist Boris Teterev's anniversary in November 2023, scholarships from our foundation have been presented to students and teachers of Riga Stradins University (RSU). The Foundation has been supporting RSU's ideas for more than 10 years: a total of 49 students of RSU's Faculty of Medicine have received scholarships, 172 study courses have already been modernized, COVID-19 research and improvement of the study environment have been financed. Support for RSU projects in the years of cooperation has exceeded 1 million euros.

In 2023, four more scholarship holders of the foundation completed their studies in medicine at RSU with excellent results. Katrīna Freimane, Kalvis Kaļva, Ričards Kauliņš, and Viola Daniela Kiseļova have joined the circle of talented young doctors. Since 2011, this scholarship has become a stepping stone for 49 RSU students. 29 of them have already graduated from RSU studies, adding to the ranks of medical professionals.

The twentieth anniversary was celebrated by Ziedot.lv - the largest charitable organization in Latvia and one of our foundation's long-term cooperation partners. "We can celebrate your twentieth anniversary because you have created and maintained the trust of the public. Without trust, at best it would be one or two nice campaigns. Twenty years is not maturity just for a charity organization. This is the maturity of society. It comes when it seems right to share," said Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs at the anniversary celebrations. We have been with Ziedot.lv since the very beginning, both by providing regular assistance to the operation of Ziedot.lv and the Children's Rehabilitation Center POGA, as well as by donating to specific projects. The work continues and is embodied in more and more new works.

With the support of our foundation, until 2023, several dozen small patients with mobility impairments of the Children's Rehabilitation Center POGA have received rehabilitation courses of Mollii superhero costumes at home.

Scientists of the Latvian Institute of Horticulture have selected new varieties of sweet cherry and apricot. In honor of the long-term charitable activities of Boris and Ināra Tetereva, they are named after both philanthropists. The apricot variety 'Boriss' is named in honor of Boris Tetereva, sweet cherry variety 'Inara Tetereva' is a tribute to the philanthropist. Pictured: Ināra Tetereva.

The cycle of programs and theater performances Teātris.zip continues to record and show Latvian theater performances on television. Since 2012, with the support of the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation, diverse, bright, important performances have been immortalized. The best productions of Riga and regional theaters and the audience's favorite productions are selected for recording.

In May 2023, philanthropist Ināra Tetereva was awarded the Certificate of Merit of the President of Latvia for her selfless and outstanding charity work and contribution to education, science, culture, social assistance, and animal protection.

Improvements have already been made in 14 charity kitchens with the support of the foundation, so that running them becomes more convenient and economical. These charity kitchens prepare and serve 42,450 hot meals every month.

The year 2023 was the year of the Libyan heritage, where the most important events were the grand concert dedicated to the centenary of the Liiv Association (Līvõd Īt) in April, the traditional Liiv festival in Mazirbe in August, and the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Liiv flag in November.

As part of long-term cooperation, the foundation provides support to animal shelters "Good Home" and "Animals' Friend". Since 2011, many thousands of animals have been cared for in them with the financial support of the foundation. Provided preventive and emergency veterinary assistance, surgeries, and care for animals suffering from human cruelty. Caring for animals is also embodied in the support for the program "The Paw on the Hearth". It is played on Sundays by Latvijas Radio 2 with the possibility to listen to its recordings on the Internet.

The Foundation continues to implement the program for enterprising and active people "Do it yourself for your family table". In 2023, 30 non-profit organizations involved 903 households in gardening projects. Since 2017, this is the largest number of organizations and households that have grown food for themselves and their families on their own in gardening projects within one year.

Latvian Radio's programs "Radio mazā lasītava" and "Книжный вторник" take us on new literary journeys. They are broadcast on Latvian Radio 1 and Latvian Radio 4, but the stories and book readings that have already been broadcast can be listened to on the Internet.

On the 100th anniversary of the Botanical Garden of the University of Latvia, the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation presents a special gift - an automatic watering system, which now allows to preserve the diverse plant collection throughout the garden. Until now, the insufficient watering system and low pressure of the water supply have prevented the full watering of the entire necessary area, thus endangering the plant collection and specially created lawns.

Celebrating the centenary of the Valmiera Theatre, our foundation has supported the creation of four important new productions of Latvian drama classics. In 2023 and 2024, four important new productions of classic works of Latvian drama will be created - Raini's "Jāzeps and his brothers" (director Inese Mičule), "The widow's son" based on the work of Vilis Plūdonis (director Viesturs Roziņš), Pāvels Rozītis's "Valmiera's Boys" (director Jānis Znotiņš) and Rūdolfs Blaumani's "Lost Son" (director Reinis Suhanovs).
