  • This programme is rendered particularly significant by the circumstance that it began to fully function in 2014 when Riga became a European Capital of Culture. The programme is implemented in collaboration with Riga City Council.

  • “This art object has been executed using the technique of bronze casting. “How many awful and secretive tales can an invisible object covered in cloth hide? In a way, this art object is a monument to "veiled sculpture" and to the traditional ghostly technique of hiding under cloth,” explains artist Ieva Rubeze.

  • “With this work of art, Ieva Rubeze is continuing her often dream-like poetry. Her work was chosen by philanthropists, as well as Māra Lāce, Juris Dambis and Aleksejs Naumovs last year in the draft competition “Riga Smiles Again”,” explains the programme’s curator Helēna Demakova.
