At the animal shelter "The Animals' Friend". 03.03.2025.
From 2010 to 2024, the shelter has taken in 678 dogs, 5,016 cats, 22 rabbits, as well as several rats, gerbils, chinchillas, ferrets, degus, and parrots. The majority of the animals have found their forever homes.

The shelter also continues an extensive street cat colony population control program, “Trap-Neuter-Release!”, thereby humanely reducing the number of stray cats in Latvia.
